Go ahead! Stand up and look in the mirror!

You didn’t know you were a creative genius? Well, you are! We all are!

The creative label isn’t just for people and things considered “artsy”. That way of thinking creates a disconnect between thinking (the process) and content/context (the output).

Creativity is not a clever term; it’s the act of creating or bringing something new and useful into existence (something entirely new or a new spin on existing elements).

But, creativity without usefulness or need is like a joke that no one else finds funny.

Enter the Pandemic Renaissance.

We needed to be creative geniuses to make the sudden pivots that COVID-19 brought to our doorsteps.

  • We needed positivity. John Krascinzki created “Some Good News” from his home office in his boxers.

  • We needed connection. App developers created features to let us see each other and have game night with loved ones no matter how near or far.

  • We needed supplies. Distilleries and manufactures created hand sanitizer, masks and ventilators by reconfiguring their operations.

  • We needed exercise sans gyms. Exercise studios created live streams and recordings for home workouts.

  • We needed to help businesses. Dave Portnoy & Chef Gruel created programs to help small businesses where the government fell short.

And that’s just the shortlist.

We created new routines and solutions by playing and exploring the boundaries and gaps of what we needed or wanted to accomplish each day with new & emerging circumstances.

Reflect for a minute on all you created since April 2020 and feel good about calling yourself a creative genius, because you are!
